For Sweethearts

Hello, loves!

After much contemplation (procrastination?), I finally have a picture filled blog post, as promised!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I frequently do style/O.O.T.D. posts, however, I only showcase a couple of photos from a complete set.  Therefore, the purpose of this blog will be to provide much more content, as well as keep up with requested inquiries on look specifics and give more detailed feedback on each look.  It's been a long time coming and I'm excited to begin this project with you guys!

Since we are honing in on Valentine's Day, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to kick off with a themed post  - what better than a baby pink dress paired with complimentary ivory lingerie?  Whether you will be celebrating Valentine's Day with a loved one, friends or family, or by treating yourself (which I highly encourage), it cannot be denied that this is a perfect opportunity to dress up!

 So let's get to it:

It's fun to do looks based on Holiday inspiration, and this outfit was an obvious choice.

Not only is this dress a wonderful way to effortlessly show off your figure (IMO, all shapes and sizes need to own and embrace at least one wiggle dress)- the fabric is very comfortable and hugs your body in just the right way.  I wear a size small, though due to the stretch allowance for this particular style, a size medium could wear a small for a more snug fit.  The soft, powdery baby pink adds a delicate, classically feminine touch.  In fact, this color is so timeless that Stop Staring decided to re-release it in this style again recently and just like before, it's selling out fast.  This dress is perfect for spring but can definitely be styled for many other occasions.  It also comes in a wide variety of colors (I own a few...) so if pink isn't your thing, there's bound to be another colorway perfect for you.

Now let's talk about my lingerie and 100% real nylons by Secrets in Lace:

What's so great about 100% real nylons?  Not only are they a true vintage replica, but I feel they are the epitome of an authentically classic look.  I've tried many brands over the years, from modern to actual vintage, and Secrets in Lace is a favorite of mine for a reason. Their nylons and lingerie feel and look exquisite. There is a wide range of different styles, so you can really create a variety of looks with them, and for this look I chose the timeless Emma Sheer Heel & Reinforced Toe Stockings.

There is something very empowering about wearing a sexy set of lingerie underneath an outfit...for this set, I chose to reveal a peek of my bra to compliment the outfit and show the variety of ways this bra can be worn. My bra is the Speakeasy Push Up Bra in Pink, paired with the Speakeasy Garter Belt in Pink.

As far as accessories for my outfit go, my clip-on earrings and matching brooch are vintage, gifted by my Grandmother - as well as the gloves and faux fur stole.

I chose to do classic make-up with a modern spin on the eyeshadow for this look - it's usually my go to.  My hairstyle was quick, since I have naturally thick/curly hair, it can be very tedious to style everyday.  I've found a simple roll in the front with a hair flower usually works great for an on-the-go kinda gal like myself.

If you'd like to see specific styled posts (make-up/lifestyle/etc.), please comment below!  In fact, all constructive feedback would be helpful - I'd love to know what you guys think and what you'd like to see more of in the future.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog - I hope this has been useful or even just a fun way to pass the time.  Be sure to subscribe here for many more entries to come!

Until next time...

  4. I always worry about these colors against fair skin so that made me hesitant to wear soft pinks; but you have convinced me otherwise - this dress is beautiful.

Summertime

Ah, summertime... when the days are longer, and the vibe is more care-free.  It's the perfect time to bring out those lightweight frocks and store away the layers (in Southern California, anyway) .  The obvious dress choices would be bright, fun florals and patterns... however, I wanted to change it up and go for a more neutral summer look for this post. I opted for this wonderful curve-hugging classic by Stop Staring Clothing -  the Billion Dollar Baby Dress in tan and black dots.   I can confidently state that I own this style of dress more than any other, and for me, it's a no brainer as to why.  It's classic, chic,  and  comfortable... hugs your body in just the right way, keeping a bit of modesty while simultaneously showing off your best assets... truly a must own for every lady, no matter your shape or size. Fun fact:  I used to really dislike polka dot  anything ... I felt it was very cliche and obvious, especial...

Bewitching Style

Happy October, lovelies.  The season of bewitching style... For today's blog, I am featuring my favorite lingerie brand, Secrets in Lace , in a picture-heavy post to show just how versatile their pieces can be. I am wearing the Angela Point D'Esprit Blouse over the Andrea Vintage Strapless Longline  bra.  I wear these pieces often, and they always receive endless compliments.  Also, as you may have already guessed, I am wearing a SIL garter belt and nylons; the  Intrigue Garter Belt  with the Dana Glamour heel  in beige (backseams are my favorite, and oh-so classic).  To change the look up and add even more Va-Va-Voom , I switched out the blouse for a vintage necklace to match my earrings, and faux leather opera length gloves to perfectly compliment my faux leather pencil skirt - you can actually find these on Amazon!  My heels are Louboutin "New Very Prive" and were a perfect pick for this elegant, vampy loo...
