Keeping Vintage Fashion Alive

I'm very excited to be sharing this blog with you guys today!  This is my first time working with the popular retro-inspired company  Unique Vintage,  and their beautiful clothing most certainly holds up to their name.  Unique Vintage delivers everything their title suggests; there’s a great variety of sought-out vintage repro clothing to be found, and they even carry many alternative and modern pieces as well.  The dress I am featuring today comes directly from the Unique Vintage house brand.  This is the stunning Valencia Swing Dress  in white and turquoise.  This dress is pretty on the website, but even more eye-catching in person.  The colors are rich and vibrant- what you see is what you get!   The gathered bust tapers down to a wide-banded waist, which really emphasizes an hour-glass shape.  For bigger chested gals, I can vouch that the top feels secure and not at all flimsy; additionally, the shirring in b...

Holding onto Spring...

Hello, darlings!  Though it's now June, I'm sneaking in one last spring-inspired dress before the official summer season kicks off.   As you may or may not know by now,  I'm a sucker for floral attire. This is my first time wearing the brand Hell Bunny , and I am really impressed with the quality for the price.  Usually at this price point, vintage-inspired clothing can look and feel a bit "costume" like and this is definitely not the case.  The cherry blossom & orchid pattern is very vibrant in person and the material is very light, comfortable and breathable - in fact, this is a great dress not only for spring, but summer as well.  What especially caught my eye with this adorable tea dress were the dainty details; the false collar with it's bronze button display is definitely one of my favorite features. The bust, personally, was a bit on the tight side, however the material has good room allowance, so it works.  The dress...

Majestic in Magenta

Hello, lovelies!  It's been another whirlwind of a week, but ended perfectly with a little family trip down to San Diego. It's definitely been a lot warmer down here since my last post, and the flowers are finally in full bloom.  I love bringing out all of my spring inspired and floral pieces, though this dress by  Trashy Diva  is special in a few different ways. The bright pop of magenta against the contrasting deep black swept me right off my feet, as it perfectly blends my two favorite elements - girly with a dash of noir. If there is any dress that captures my aesthetic, then it's this one. The Magenta Floral collection was a recent re-release by Trashy Diva, as it was highly requested by Trashy Diva's loyal followers.  Though it is labeled as a "fall floral", the versatility of this dress allows it to be styled in a variety of ways throughout the year.  This particular style is the "Obi dress" and I am wearing a siz...

Gal with the blue dress on

After a hectic couple of weeks, I'm happy to be back to hopefully what will be more regular blog posting. Thank you all for your feedback on my posts, and especially for your support! Though the season is spring, it seems globally that the weather isn't quite matching up - after a few warm months in southern California, it has definitely cooled down a bit; rain (much needed here) and some strong winds.  All in all, I don't mind, so long as the sun is shining and I can still dress up! For this afternoon stroll, I wore two of my very favorite brands - Stop Staring and Secrets in Lace . These companies are each owned by people I greatly admire; who are kind, respectful and passionate about their brand.  I have shot professionally for both, and not only do they each make high-quality, beautiful garments, but it's always a very pleasant experience working with them. For these reasons, you will definitely see a lot of their clothing and lingerie showcased in my ...

"Look" of the Irish

It's officially that time of year - when we are all just a wee bit more Irish. Whether you are Irish nationally, by heritage, or just an admirer of it's vast and rich culture, there's no doubt it's always good craic to partake in the celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Though it's a fun excuse to dress up in every green garment one could possibly fathom (and get away with), there are many reasons this marks a special holiday.  I won't go into a history lesson on the Patron Saint of Ireland, though I will say that that the Emerald Isle is very near and dear to my heart. Having a dapper husband from Ireland helps, and sure, I've recently learned that I'm a quarter Irish myself, thanks to an Ancestry.com DNA test.  So there's that. So let's get into the outfit details, since that is basically the reason I birthed this blog.  I'm wearing the Pinup Girl Clothing Harley Dress in Olive. This dress has become a personal repeat offend...
